Publix, April 8, 2011

It has been a while since I have been to the grocery store, but couldn't pass up some of the freebies and money-makers I had for Publix this week.  Many of them were out of stock (but, I was told they get a truck tonight, so maybe at 7am tomorrow, I'll be knocking down my Publix's door!), but still managed to get a few!  Not all the groceries I bought were on sale and I got 4 items I didn't have a coupon for.  My savings were still great and I am proud of my 67% savings!

Believe it or not, these groceries were worth $116.10, I spent $37.94, and saved $78.16!

Since January 1, 2011, I have saved my family, $1854.38!

Publix, February 3, 2011- My Best Savings Yet!

What a nasty day it is today!  But, the rain didn't keep me from finding some great deals!  I had to go to 2 different Publix stores today because one had a few of the "money makers" I wanted to use and the other takes more competitors coupons.  Also, when I came home to unload my groceries to take the picture of them- I noticed 2 things I hadn't planned on buying, thanks to a bored 2 year old!  So, I did not include those things in the picture or in the total spent, as I will be going back to return them!  Ok, so here it is, I know it doesn't look like a lot, but my groceries were worth $108.93, I spent $15.15, and I saved $93.78!  That's an 86% savings!
So far this year, I have saved my family $777.32!

Publix, January 28, 2011

I've been contemplating whether or not to post this shopping trip, but decided to go ahead anyway!  I had A LOT of coupons for Publix this week to be able to start stockpiling some items I didn't have.  I tried to convince my brother to watch the girls for me, but he elected to go with me and help me out with the girls at the store.  Needless to say, he will never go with me again!!  He had no idea how long it would take me in the store, going through my list, checking my coupons, and doing my best to be organized!  I ended up buying more baby formula, pull ups, and toilet paper, so I spent more than I would have liked and normally do.  I also had to buy meat and butter and those types of trips I dislike most of all!  I'm not going to deprive my family of what they need because I don't have a coupon for that particular item, but I will make the most cost-effective decision as to what I buy!  Ok, so here it is, my groceries at Publix on Friday: Worth $346.60, Spent $146.47, Saved $200. 13!

Since January 1, 2011, I have saved my family $683.54!

Publix, January 26, 2011

As I said in one of my other posts, sometimes you go to the store for things you need and can't just shop for what is on sale.  Today, since I have an infant and a toddler who is potty training, I needed formula and pullups!  Since the baby was a preemie, she has a very sensitive tummy and requires the gentle milk-based formula that most store brands don't make.  So, saying that, just because these things are not on sale, I can still do my research and find coupons for them!  I bought 4 containers of formula and 3 packages of pullups, that without coupons, would have cost me over $90!  But, of course, I did do other shopping for things that were on sale and things I could "make money" on that would go toward my other groceries.  So here is the breakdown:  My groceries were worth $187.84, I spent $74.50, and saved $113.34!

I have saved my family $483.41 so far this year!

By the way, I also get to fill out another rebate form from the Kimberly Clark/Enfamil Booklet at Publix (in my mom's name this time, as it is only 1 rebate per household) so I will got another $10 Publix card in the mail!

How did you do this week?

Publix, January 20, 2011

I started the morning doing laundry with no plans of shopping or looking at coupons today.  As I poured the detergent into the washing machine I realized I was running low on detergent, and where does my mind go?  Yes! To coupons!  I wondered what I had...  So, I looked at southernsaver.com to see if there was a good deal and the madness began.  I was so excited at how many coupons I had, I was actually shaking!  There is a big sale this week on Kimberley Clark items, there are booklets at Publix behind the customer service desk (which my husband so wonderfully picked up for me yesterday) as well as in the paper from last week (I think)  So, saying all that, my purchase today ended up being (drumroll, please!) :
Worth $121.67, paid $22.30, saved $99.37!  Since January 1, I have already saved my family $370.07!

Kroger, January 18, 2011

Went to Kroger today off Husdon Bridge Road because I refuse to go to the one off Jonesboro Road anymore!  They took ALL of my printables without making me feel like a criminal!  I was able to take advantage of the "Buy 4 Kelloggs products and get 2 gallons of milk free" promotion, but just barely!  The cereal I had coupons for was gone and all they had left was Apple Jacks, I bought them anyway because the deal was too good to pass up.  I had to convince myself it was not the end of the world not using a coupon!  Saying all that, this is how I did:  Groceries were worth $149.01, spent $48.73, saved $100.28!  Here is the picture of what I got:
