"Money Maker" Game Plan, January 20, 2011

I forgot to check how much I actually spent on the Kimberly Clark items after my shopping trip today!  Why do that?  Publix is giving out Kimberly Clark/Enfamil Coupon Booklets with $36 worth of store coupons for their brand items.  They usually aren't set out, so you have to go to Customer Service and ask for them!  In the booklet, it says if you spend $35 in KC/Enfamil products in one shopping trip, you can send in your receipt with a small form to fill out and you will receive a $10 Publix gift card!  So, I just added up how much I "spent" (before coupons of course!) and I spent $37.08!   Wait until you see what I actually spent!  Here is the breakdown of what I bought and how I actually MADE money on this transaction of Kimberly Clark items:
  1. Products: Scott Toilet Paper, large roll 4pk (equal to 12 regular sized rolls) bought 3 @ $2.99, Scott Scented Wipes- 2 @ $2.29, 1 refill @$1.99
  • Coupons: 3 store coupons: save $3 on 1 package of Scott Toilet Paper, and 1 Scott Scented Wipes,  3 manufacturers coupons: save $1 of 1 package of Scott Toilet paper, and 3 manufacturers coupons: save $0.50 on  Scott wipes (doubles)
  • Cost: Per set of Toilet/Paper Wipes, before coupons=  $15.54, after store coupon was applied= $6.54, after manufacturers coupons were applied= $0.54!
  • Total = $0.54 for 3 packs of Toilet Paper and 3 packs of wipes!
      2.    Product: 1 package Poise product @ $3.19
  • Coupons: 1 store coupon: save $3 on one Depends/Poise product, and 1 competitor coupon (Target): save $1.50 on 1 poise product
  • Cost: Before Coupons= $3.19, after store coupon applied = $0.19, after competitor coupon applied=  -$1.31
  • Total= -$1.31 for Poise product, which went to help purchace other groceries
      3.  Product: 3 boxes Kleenex Antiviral Tissues @ $1.97 each
  • Coupons: 1 store coupon: save $2 on 2 boxes of Kleenex, 1 manufacturers coupon: save $1 on 3 boxes of Kleenex
  • Cost: Before Coupons=$5.91, after store coupon applied= $3.91, after manufacturers coupon applied= $2.91
  • Total= $2.91 for 3 boxes of Kleenex
      4.  Product: 4 Kotex products @ $3.11 each
  • Coupons: 2 store coupons: save $2 on 1 Kotex product, 2 store coupons: save $1.50 on 1 Kotex product, 2 manufacturers coupons: save $2 on 2 Kotex products
  • Cost: Before Coupons= $12.44, after all 4 store coupons applied= $5.44, after manufacturers coupons applied= $1.44
  • Total= $1.44 for 4 Kotex Products
Before Coupons, my purchase was worth $37.08, after coupons, I spent $3.58!  After I receive my gift card, it will be like Publix paid me $6.42 to take product off their shelves!
But what about the Scott Paper Towels?  The first Publix I went to (Hudson Bridge) did not have them out, so I took a rain check, but went to another Publix (Hwy 20/81) and found them there.  Because they were not on the same receipt as the other products they don't count toward the rebate of the $10 gift card.  But here is the breakdown of the paper towel purchase, anyway!
      5.  Product: 4 Rolls of Long Lasting Scott Paper Towels @ $2.50 each
  • Coupons: 4 store coupons: save $1.50 off 1 package of Scott Paper Towels, 1 manufacturers coupon (register coupon that printed at Kroger after purchase): save $2 of 4 rolls of Scott Paper Towels
  • Cost:  Before Coupons= $10, after store coupons applied= $4, after manufacturers coupon= $2
  • Total= $2 for 4 rolls of Long Lasting Scott Paper Towels
Total for all Scott/KC items purchased, before coupons= $47.08, after coupons= $5.58, after $10 gift card is received, Publix is giving me $ 4.42 to take product off their shelves!
